Brookfield Bed and Breakfast
We welcome you to this tiny hamlet of 19th century homes tucked around Sunset Lake and the famous "floating bridge", located in the heart of Central Vermont. For over fifteen years, we've enjoyed welcoming guests to our home, which is listed as part of the National Historic District known as Pond Village. Our informal atmosphere, furnished with family furniture and cherished antiques, suggests comfort and we encourage relaxation. Our porch, with views of the garden, brook and the lake, invites renewal. It's a delightful spot for doing nothing...absolutely nothing at all. A light-hearted B & B by the Floating Bridge.
Rooms & Rates: 3 Rooms, $110 to $150 per night, double occupancy

Green Trails Inn and Fork Shop
Back in 1932, when the Green Trails Inn was established, Pond Village was a beautiful peaceful spot, centrally located, yet remote. Today, Pond village retains its quietude and beauty, but it is now one of Vermont's most convenient locales. Be welcomed by professional cookbook author Jane Doerfer at her eight bedroom inn. Guests can read or sit by the fire in the inn's great room, play board games in the breakfast space, or relax in the inn's secluded living room or rear deck. Books and magazines are everywhere. Rather than requiring a set time for breakfast, Doerfer offers a Northern European breakfast buffet with home baking to be enjoyed at the guests' convenience. The inn offers a low key alternative for a relaxing vacation year round. Its c.1840 farmhouse faces the historic Floating Bridge, Sunset Lake, and Ariel's, one of Vermonts best restaurants.
Rooms & Rates: 8 Rooms, $95 to $110, double occupancy; solo travelers get a 10% discount. A separate three bedroom, two bath space is available for $250 a night.
