The Floating Bridge Food and Farms Cooperative is made up of a group of farm, food and lodging businesses owned by families who are dedicated to locally grown food and sustainable agriculture. The co-op is working to build a strong community of like-minded businesses within the areas of Brookfield, Randolph Center and Northfield, Vermont.
The Floating Bridge Food and Farms Cooperative’s mission is threefold, to:
- Develop a collective of agricultural businesses as a model of local sustainability;
- Provide visitors with an authentic experience that deepens their appreciation and understanding of a working agricultural community; and
- Provide farm and food-based educational opportunities.
Initial funding for the development of the Cooperative came from the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board’s Farm Viability Enhancement Program, as well as support from the Vermont Farm Women’s Fund through the University of Vermont Extension program.
