Brookfield Bees maintains a small apiary, cider mill and sugaring operation in Brookfield, VT. We keep bees at several locations and farms in the Kibbee neighborhood of Brookfield, as well as some locations in Randolph Center. Our bees produce honey for eating as well as beeswax for making candles and soap. In the fall, we collect apples from trees around the Kibbee neighborhood which we press into sweet cider. Some of that cider we boil down in our sugaring arch to make apple cider syrup. In the spring we tap approximately 500 maple trees on our property to collect sap which we boil to make maple syrup.
Soap and Candles – Made with wax from our bees
Fresh Cider and Apple Cider Syrup – Apples for our cider come from trees all around the Kibbee neighborhood. The cider is boiled down to make Cider Syrup, a sweet treat with rich apple flavor that’s wonderful on pancakes, ice cream, and as a glaze on meat dishes.
This farm is only open to the public during events and by appointment (please call to schedule).
