Bed and Breakfast Inn, cooking classes
Green Trails Inn has been operating in Pond Village since 1932, when it
opened as a horseback riding resort. It has always been a spot where New
England hospitality is offered at a reasonable price.

For the past six years, Jane Doerfer, a cookbook author and cooking
teacher, has owned the inn. Doerfer cooks with organic ingredients whenever
possible, sources local fruits, vegetables, and eggs, and makes everything
from scratch. As Horticulture Magazine's food columnist for many years (and
collaborator on The Victory Garden Cookbook), local fresh fruit and
vegetables are essential for her cooking. Doerfer also teaches cooking
classes based on her Going Solo in the Kitchen cookbook (Knopf).

Doerfer also bought the lake front Fork Shop building, formerly the
restaurant of the inn, right next to the Floating Bridge. The property with
its lake frontage, two waterfalls, and meandering stream is always
available for inn guests to enjoy.
