On Sunday August 23rd rain or shine, the Floating Bridge Food and Farms Cooperative presents A Farm-To-Table Dinner By Sunset Lake.  Join us at Ariel's Garden by the Lake in Brookfield (inside Ariel's if the weather does not cooperate), for a spectacular, five course dinner.

Chef Lee Duberman has been out scoping the gardens of the members of the Floating Bridge Food and Farms Cooperative as she and Richard prepare to host this lakeside farm-to-table dinner. The dinner will celebrate the best of summer in the hills of Central Vermont,  witha "vegetable-forward" new Mediterraneanmenu.  Pasture-raised and heritage meats will be paired up with heirloom tomatoes, the season's best vegetables and our trio of local sweets (maple, honey and sofi award winning Fat Toad Caramel),  creating depth to the delicious flavors.  Brookfield's quintessential village and Sunset Lake at sunset reinforce what the Coop is all about -- enjoyment of the simple authenticity of family farms and Vermont's working landscape.

Arrive at 5pm for a "Meet The Farmers and Makers Hour" with Cocktails and Tasting Tables. You can try delicious products made and grown by our Coop members, featuring honey, syrup, caramel, heirloom tomatoes, and teas. The cash bar will include local beers, Vermont wines and a special house cocktail. Live music will be provided by local musicians.

An elegant five course dinner will be served at 6pm featuring the best of the seasonal and very local product grown and raised by Floating Bridge Food & Farms Cooperative members, and prepared by Ariel's Chef Lee Duberman. The menu will be New-Mediterranean style, a vegetable forward cuisine with local sustainably raised meats.

Chilled Fresh Tomato and Basil Soup with Gazpacho Granita
2nd course
Composed Salad of baby new potatoes, fresh green beans, medium boiled hen's egg, crispy shallots, extra virgin olive oil, Nicoise olives
3rd course
Chicken Roulade, Seasonal Succotash
fennel confit, crispy leeks
(veg option: spinach, red pepper and goat cheese terrine replaces chicken)
4th course
Honey Glazed Pork Belly,
 creamy polenta, tomato maple agra-dolce
(veg option:  Glazed Roasted Eggplant replaces pork)
5th course
Blueberry Crumble, Sweet Corn Ice Cream
Fat Toad Farm caramel

Seating for the dinner will be at farmhouse tables, on the back lawn of Ariel's Restaurant, overlooking the water. In case of rain, we will seat inside Ariel's Restaurant.

The cost of this event will be $68, which includes all food, taxes and gratuities. Wine and beer will be available at dinner for an additional cost.
