Honey Tasting II

Due to popular demand, Brookfield Bees will be offering another opportunity to sample honey from around the world.  If you think that all honey tastes the same, has the same color, or has the same texture you have been buying pasteurized, blended honey that is probably adulterated with sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup.

On November 16th at 3:00 PM you can learn more about this unique food product that we enjoy courtesy of the honeybee.  There will be a talk about honeybees, how bees make honey, floral sources of nectar, how floral sources affect the taste, texture and color of honey, how honey is extracted, and beekeeping in general.  Discussion will be followed by a sampling of honey from around the world.  Each participant can choose one honey source for the entire group to sample.  There will be honey to choose from over 15 countries (Including Sierra Leone, Pakistan, Ireland, Mexico, Ethiopia, Australia (Tasmania), and New Zealand, and fifteen new samples from Greece.  Domestic honey from over 25 states are also options.

The tasting will take place at Brookfield Bees 1148 Kibbee Road, Brookfield, VT 05036.
